Dr. Richard Poglitsch
Based at his practice in Franklin near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, our dentist, Dr. Richard Poglitsch, is known as an artistic, skilled, and enthusiastic dentistry professional. He has completed an impressive array of postgraduate studies taught by world-renowned clinicians. Dr. Poglitsch welcomes the opportunity to improve your appearance and increase your confidence by creating a naturally beautiful smile.
Education
Some of Dr. Richard Poglitsch's achievements include receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry. In addition, he has graduated from three major cosmetic dentistry programs at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. During these programs Dr. Poglitsch received specialized training in:
- Advanced Posterior Cosmetics, which concerns the back teeth.
- Advanced Anterior Esthetics, which concerns the front teeth.
- Mastership Training in Smile Design, which involves creating attractive smiles.
- LVI Occlusion I and Occlusion II, which deals with the way teeth relate to the jaw muscles and the jaw joint.
- LVI/JP Consultants Soft Tissue Management Programs, which involves non surgical treatments to treat gingivitis (gum disease) and peritonitis (bone disease).
Memberships and Associations
Dr. Richard Poglitsch is a member of the prestigious Crown Council, an alliance of leading-edge dentists who provide a continually rising standard of care. Dr. Poglitsch always strives for high quality dental care at his office serving the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Having been very active in the Jaycees and Parkland Kiwanis (covering southwest suburbs of Milwaukee), Dr. Richard Poglitsch has run various projects, was on the board of directors, and served as treasurer, vice president, president, and chairman of the board.
Background
Dr. Poglitsch has lived in Greendale since he was 2 years old. He attended the Greendale Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1972. He and his wife Sue have been married for more than 27 years and have two daughters (Jessica and Lisa) and a son (Brad).
Hobbies
When not diligently improving his ability to provide quality dental care, Dr. Poglitsch can be found enjoying time with his family or competing in numerous sports. He sponsored and coached little league for more than 10 years and was always a supporter of his kids' extracurricular activities while they were in school. He loves playing golf, tennis, and softball, as well as bowling, biking, and hiking.
In 2008, Dr. Richard Poglitsch will participate in his 20th 51 Kilometer American Birkebeiner, which is the largest cross-country ski event in North America.
Dr. Poglitsch’s quick wit and sense of humor served him well while taking improv classes. Over the years, he performed in numerous shows at Milwaukee Comedy Sportz. In more recent history, Dr. Poglitsch has performed at various comedy clubs in Southeastern Wisconsin doing stand up comedy.
Michelle - Hygienist
Michelle graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College with an associate degree in May 2005. She has been working for Dr. Richard Poglitsch since November 2005. She enjoys shopping and spending time with her 11 year old daughter.
