How Invisalign® Works

Invisalign® technology utilizes a computer system that predicts and simulates the stages that the teeth will go through before achieving ideal positioning in the mouth. Based on this simulation, transparent plastic aligners are created for the patient to wear for a predetermined period of time. The Invisalign® plastic aligners are extremely durable and nearly invisible. Worn at all times except when eating or drinking, the aligners are custom molded just for you. Every few weeks you will receive a new Invisalign® aligner at our office, which will gradually adjust the position of your teeth.

Although the number of aligners each patient requires varies, patients usually use 18 to 30 aligners before achieving a perfectly straight smile. Invisalign® can produce ideal results in as little as six months to a year, but may also take longer.
